Chief Pup Louie is helping us out today! Making sure us humans give all pooch guests their fair share of gravy bones, and keeping us all in check.
He’s got his pen and paper at the ready, but so far on his to do list he has “nap, snack and sniff”. We’re not too sure how he’s going to answer the phone or reply to emails… but he makes up for it with a can do attitude!
Today we took a scenic drive over to Pont-rhyd-y-groes, approximately 45 minutes away from us at Red Kite. Here you will find free road-side parking (SY25 6DL) just a short walk away from the start of this truly stunning 3 mile circular! The footpath is just past Moduron Hafod Garage, opposite the waterwheel.
On a lovely sunny Wednesday, we didn’t expect to find a walk this quiet, where we met absolutely no one on the trail - with stunning views over the Welsh countryside, a deep gorge and a waterfall, this was a real gem of a find 😍
The trail (Coed Maen Arthur) starts by crossing a wooden footbridge over the impressive gorge, and is signposted throughout. The track predominantly follows well maintained grass track, then forestry path, with a small amount of the route being on a forestry road. There were some steep climbs and descents, but there are a few benches dotted around the route, and an alternative “shortcut” option to cut off the biggest climbs 🥾
We get dogs of all different breeds and sizes come and see us at Red Kite!
This week we’ve got the handsome Bruce, who’s never too far away from his tennis ball collection, enjoying his holidays 🥎
Today we also had the lovely Grace and Darcey who came up from our sister site, Clywedog Caravan Park - Mid Wales, to come inspect our koi pond…and maybe have a gravy bone or two! 😁
We’re pleased to say that our ornamental pond by reception is doing incredibly well, and the koi are prospering! We recently gained a few more (larger) members of our koi family, who are settling in well ☺️
To further improve the pond, we have now installed a full filtration and aeration system, which is slowly but surely clearing the water and making it far easier to see the beautiful koi swimming around, who have become a lot more active since the installation - especially at mealtimes!
We don’t know about you, but we find there’s something mesmerising, and incredibly relaxing, about watching them 🥰
We know we said Amore Pizza’s last visit with us was a couple weeks ago, but surprise! Andy and the team will be back with us this Friday, serving up his delicious wood-fired pizzas from 5-7pm 😁
What can we say? One week away was enough for us to call him and beg him to come back for a mid-September treat 😋
