Wonderful Wildlife in Wales

Our touring park is ideally located to encounter a range of wildlife in Wales. There is nothing more relaxing than sitting by the lake spotting a Kingfisher and watching other native birds ride the breeze. Much of our park is set aside with various habitats and wildlife refugees.

Red Kites

Red Kites

As our name suggests, you are sure to experience some magnificent Red Kite encounters on your holiday in Mid Wales. Red Kites can be seen riding the thermals and hunting for small mammals high in the sky before they circle slowly only to dive down onto their prey with great speed. It’s well worth bringing your binoculars. Keep an eye on the hillside to the east of our park - that's their favourite hunting spot.

Great Crest Newts

Great Crest Newts

The great crested newt is almost black in colour, with a striking spotted orange belly, not to be mistaken for a miniature dinosaur!

We have the rare and protected group of Great Crested Newts in the Nature Pond that forms part of one of the walks on the land around the park.

Ospreys

Ospreys

Ospreys are regularly spotted on the Dyfi Estuary during the spring and autumn migration seasons. We now have a pair located on the far side of the Clywedog reservoir 8 miles from our touring park. For directions, please a member of the team in the reception. The Dyfi Osprey Project on the Dyfi Estuary is well worth visiting during nesting season.

Buzzards

Buzzards

Buzzards can often be soaring above the head, hunting for small mammals around the park. Keep your eyes on the skies to spot these birds of prey.

Butterflies

Butterflies

An array of butterflies and moths can be seen around our park from the formal flower beds to the wildflower meadows.

Herons

Herons

Our resident Heron can be spotted one one of the ponds, especially early in the mornings.
