Arrival & Departure Times
What time is check in?
Check in is from 1pm – 6pm. Check in out of these times may be arranged prior to booking.
What time is check out?
Check out is 11am.
Late checkouts may be offered subject to availability at £5 until 1pm, or £10 until 6pm.
How do I find you?
Our Postcode is SY18 6NG, if you are approaching us from the A470, take the turning signposted Llanidloes from the main roundabout. Carry straight on past a Texaco garage on the right and you will approach another roundabout. On this roundabout take the third exit and drive over the bridge. Immediately after the bridge you will take a left turn signed 'Clywedog Dam' 'Hafren Forest'. Follow this road for approximately 1 mile until you reach Red Kite Touring Park on the left hand side. Please note you will pass a sign for Clywedog Riverside Holiday Home Park. From this sign Red Kite Touring Park is approximately 400 yards further up the road on the left. (PLEASE NOTE - Your sat nav may direct you direct you further up the road past the Park entrance if approaching us from the A470).
What facilities do you have on-site?
In our amenities block you will find 2 unisex "all in one" bathrooms, separate ladies and gents toilets & showers (included within your pitch fee), wash up & information room, book & DVD lending library, elsan point, dog wash and self-service launderette, operated via £1 coins (£3 per wash, £1 per 15 minutes dryer).
We have an onsite coarse fishing lake for guests only. We offer 3 different tickets: a half day ticket at £5, a full day at £7 or a weekly ticket at £35.
We have a 10 acre dog walk, complete with dog swimming pond and fully secure training area.
We have an on-site shop which stocks a range of essentials; from caravan accessories, to hygiene products, alcohol, ready meals and ice creams. We do not sell newspapers.
We do not have a café, pub, restaurant or club house on site. However, we are just 1 mile away from Llanidloes, where you will find a range of eateries.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, site Wi-Fi is included in your pitch fee, the code will be given to you upon arrival.
Premium Pitches have their own high speed Wi-Fi connection.
How close is the nearest town?
Llanidloes is just 1 mile away, and can be walked to via a public footpath; where you can find a selection of independent shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés.
Supermarkets
Our closest shops are the Co-Op and Spar in Llanidloes (1 mile).
Larger supermarkets such as Tesco, Morrisons, ALDI and Lidl can be found in Newtown (16 mile).
We also allow supermarket deliveries to site. You can get deliveries from Tesco, Morrisons and Asda. Please inform reception of your delivery day and time.
Where is the nearest caravan dealer for accessories and parts?
Rae Caravans, Llandrindod Wells (25 miles).
Salop Leisure, Shrewsbury (50 miles).
Can I reserve my pitch?
Yes, we offer a 'Pick a Pitch' option for £2.50 per night for stays of 4 nights or more.
Do you have any pitching restrictions?
Standard & Slimline Pitches: units must be pitched next to the bollard, with habitation door opening out on to your pitch.
Premium Pitches: units must be parked within the two grey pitch markers on the paved edging, but are free to orientate how you wish otherwise.
Do you allow BBQs and firepits?
We do allow BBQs on site, however all BBQs must be raised off the ground and attended at all times.
We do not allow fire pits or any open fires on site.
What's the difference between your pitch types?
All of our pitches are fully serviced, hardstanding and come inclusive of 7kWh electric per night (additional electric is purchasable at our on-site shop at our supplier rate). Our pitches are predominantly level, however some may require levelling ramps to be used.
With the exception of our Slimline Pitch, you are welcome to erect an awning on the hardstanding of any of our pitches.
Our Premium Pitches have more freedom in pitching, have a larger hardstanding with privacy hedgerows and individual Wi-Fi connection.
What units do you allow?
We allow caravans, motorhomes, campervans, folding caravans and trailer tents.
Apologies, we do not allow camping or roof top tents.
Our Standard Pitches are suitable for units up to 9m.
Our Premium Pitches are suitable for units up to 12m with overhang.
When can I use my holiday home?
We are open all year, so you can enjoy your holiday home throughout all seasons!
Can I let out my holiday home?
No, we do not allow subletting of any kind at Red Kite. We are incredibly proud of the welcoming, friendly and tranquil atmosphere we have created at Red Kite, and believe the subletting of holiday homes would be detrimental to this.
What are you site fees?
Our site fees for 2026 are £4,500.
Do you offer finance?
We do not offer finance at Red Kite Touring and Lodge Park.
How long can I keep my holiday home?
Each holiday home at Red Kite comes with an initial 25 year License Agreement. Providing the holiday home is well cared for, is presentable and in good condition, we would then issue a yearly agreement from this point.
Can friends and family use my holiday home?
Yes, you are welcome to invite close friends or family member to utilise your holiday home. Please ensure to let the team know of any visiting guests.
What costs are involved with holiday home ownership?
As well as your purchase price, you will have your annual site fees, insurance, general rates and gas & electric usage to consider.
When are you open?
We are open all year.
Visitors
We allow day visitors on site from 9am - 9pm. Please check your day guests in at reception.
Any and all visitors to Red Kite must be aged 18 or over.
Are you dog friendly?
Absolutely! We love dogs at Red Kite, and have a 10 acre dog walk, separate secure training area within our dog walk, dog swimming pond and dog wash.
Do you allow commercial vans on site?
If towing with a commercial vehicle, please contact us prior to booking.
Do you allow group bookings?
Yes, we do accept small group bookings, but remind all guests that we are a quiet site.

Do you have rentals?
No, we do not have any rentals on site.
